Conditions Treated

Back pain can be difficult to live with, impacting every aspect of day to day life. The professional chiropractic team at Mi Spine Management Clinic is here to help treat many common conditions, diseases, and injuries. Working with a chiropractor you will have a customized treatment plan that will get you on the road to recovery, living a pain-free life. Below are just a few of the more common conditions we treat regularly at our office.

Herniated or Ruptured Disc

Between each vertebra, in the spine, there are donut-shaped discs that are filled with a gel-like substance. These discs work as a cushioning device for the bones in the back, making movements pain free. Unfortunately, through age or injury, these discs can become ruptured, allowing some gel to escape the disc. When this happens the disc is said to be herniated or ruptured. Herniated discs can cause a tremendous amount of pain, but can easily be treated with chiropractic care.

Arthritis

This degenerative disease is more common with age. Arthritis typically occurs in joints and causes the joint to become stiff and painful. Depending on the type of arthritis, as well as the location and severity of the disease, a chiropractor can provide relief. Working to restore balance within the body, a chiropractor can relieve undue stress being applied to certain parts of the body, allowing the arthritis inflammation to reduce.

Spinal Stenosis

This very serious condition occurs when the channel that houses the spinal cord begins to narrow. Typically, this condition occurs as people age and more scar tissue begins to collect in the back. As the channel narrows, pressure can be applied to the spinal cord causing pain, tingling, or numbness through the arms and legs. Eventually, if left untreated, spinal stenosis can lead to paralysis and even death.

Sprains, Strains

Unfortunately, many neck and back injuries result in a sprain or strain. Sprains and strains are a result of soft tissues, like muscles, tendons, and ligaments, becoming overextended past the normal range of motion. A chiropractor is able to use massage therapy and other techniques to help increase blood flow to the injured area, promoting healing.
